Altered Art Classes at FCAL starting in January 2012

Beginning on January 9th and continuing throughout the year, FCAL will be sponsoring Altered Art Techniques and Projects on Mondays from 10 until 1.  Please check their website http://www.flaglercountyartleague.com/ for details and updates.
The January classes will return to altered books.  You can get details about the classes by emailing me at bbaughman43@yahoo.com.  I'd love to place you on my email list of students.  Judi Wormeck, Kathy Holland, and I will be instructors for these classes.  There are all levels of expertise in the class, so don't be afraid of jumping in.  And, while you are at it, join this Blog!!  I'd like to have some pictures and comments.

2012 - the first day!

Our next meeting of the altered art group will be held at the Flagler County Art League Studio on January 10th from 1-3pm.  At that meeting we will be bringing unfinished projects in plain brown wrappers to be passed off to someone else to finish.  What fun!  They should be brought back to the next meeting already finished so we can move onto our next project...our yearly "Just make something out of that!"  In case you haven't had the privilege of doing this yet, it goes like this.  Each person is to bring in at least enough to go around to all (probably 15) of one (or two) items.   Each person will go home with exactly the same items.  Then, to the next month's meeting, they will bring the creation back in to "oohs and aahs" by the group.  I promise I will bring the WE BOOK back in January and pass it along to someone else.  We are way behind on that!  My fault.  I hope to see each and every one of you at the January meeting!

Flagler Altered Art Group Meeting - June 14, 2011

Well, we had a pretty small group today...only six of us.  What a disappointment.  Hope everyone will be back soon.  We made some movable cards and bookmarks.  These techniques can be great in our altered books, etc.  If gives the viewer a way to participate in the art.  I didn't take any pictures, but will try to get some of the some of the things we did and post them on the blog...if I can figure out how.
This was pretty much a continuation of the Altered Art class on Monday.  Our Program for this meeting had to be changed because of a conflict, and I decided to fill in with this.
Keep an eye out for next month's program.  No one has signed up for that one yet.  Any volunteers?
Also, visit www.flaglercountyartleague.com for a schedule of all classes offered at FCAL.  They are a great value!

Morning Carol,
I just received my free gift!!! How exciting for me. I just love it and the whole idea of doing it. I haven't had much time to move around your blog site as we had a fine arts show and festival here in Palm Coast, Fl. this weekend. Our altered arts group was a major player and did demos and mini-clinics. I am trying to recover from that after preparing for several weeks prior. My collage, Variations 1 won a second place in the mixed media catagory...my first award in the groups' shows. I was quite excited as our group doesn't seem to get much respect with the fine arts folks...lol. I will be exploring your blog page more in the next few weeks. I am honored to have been the first to receive your gifts. Not only is it a thoughtful thing to do, but it is bound to be as much of an inspiration to all...I know that it is to me! Thank you, Beej
